We’ve Found Freedom

With everything that has been happening politically recently, I can imagine it is hard for us as Christians to keep our eyes focussed on God. There is so much damage in this world and everyday seems to be getting worse. Our decisions for our next president are not ideal at the moment however, in spite of the chaos we must keep our eyes on God.

People are going to disappoint us left and right. We cannot trust the human flesh but we must trust God. He sees our future and sees this worlds future. He has His hand on everything even though we may not see it at the current moment. This world may seem like it’s loosing its freedom but as Christians we have a greater freedom. God has a greater freedom than what the founding fathers offered the United States. FullSizeRender-4

God has given us freedom from sin, death, and condemnation of the law. There is truly liberty in God our Father, Savior, and Holy Spirit. As Christians, we are not afraid of death because we know where we are going. We are not afraid of the temptations Satan brings forth because God is our refuge. We are not afraid of the world that has become less Christian and more liberal because God is on the throne. He commands our destiny not this world.

Additionally, we should celebrate the freedom we have from persecution. There are so many Christians, outside of the U.S., being killed and put into prison for proclaiming to be followers of Jesus Christ. These people are suffering yet they have not lost hope in God. They completely understand what liberty is in Christ Jesus. They do not worry for their lives because even if one person is ministered to then they know that all the pain and suffering was worth it.

So this fourth of July, let us celebrate the freedom we have to worship God wherever we are in the USA. Let us honor those who are fighting for this country to keep us safe from people who try to hurt us. And above all, let us celebrate the freedom that we have in our Lord and Savior. The one who died just so that we may have eternal life with our Heavenly Father! Below is a link to a song that I believe perfectly describes the freedom that we have in Jesus Christ. God bless you this fourth of July weekend!
